13 – 15 March 2026 | Rena – Lillehammer, Norway
1 backpack, 53 km, 13,000 skiers
Birkebeinerrennet is one of Norway’s most iconic sporting traditions. As the official cross-country ski boot partner at this year’s edition, Alpina stood alongside more than 13,000 participants tackling the legendary 53 km route from Rena to Lillehammer, mandatory 3.5 kg backpack included.
New Pro BOA at the toughest climb

Our team was present at several key points along the course, offering hands-on support and expert help throughout the race. At the Lillehammer stadium, skiers got the chance to try the new Pro BOA boots firsthand, experiencing their fit and performance up close. Further along the route, at one of the toughest climbs on the course – the Alpina Climb at Midtfjellet – our team cheered skiers on as they pushed through one of the most demanding sections of the race.
A boot skiers keep choosing

Many participants chose to race in Alpina boots, a clear sign of the trust skiers place in the brand and its deep roots in the cross-country skiing community. Our team from Žiri also joined the event on-site, supporting our local partner and reinforcing the connection between Alpina, our partners, and the skiing community.
Snow, wind and 800 years of tradition

Despite tough weather – heavy snowfall and strong winds on Friday, headwinds and slow snow on Saturday – the spirit of Birken proved stronger than the conditions. Being part of Birkebeinerrennet means being present where the sport truly lives: in the mountains, in the effort of every skier, and in a tradition that has endured for more than 800 years.
