Norwegian dominance in Falun culminated in a fantastic achievement for our brand ambassador, Harald Østberg Amundsen. Wearing Alpina boots, he claimed an impressive second place in a demanding skiathlon, marking his best individual World Cup result at this venue.
The race was intense from the very start, but Harald consistently kept pace with the leaders, demonstrating his strength in the final stretch and winning the silver medal. After the race, he admitted that returning to top form following his struggles during the Olympics meant the world to him.
“It was a tough race considering Martin pushed so hard from the start. I struggled physically during the Olympics. That’s why it was really nice to feel that my body was back again,” says Amundsen. “It’s a tough and intense course that suits me well. I’m really looking forward to the World Championships here next year. When there’s as much crowd support as there was during Saturday’s sprint, I’m convinced Falun will deliver a true cauldron atmosphere for the World Championships. It’s going to be fun.”
